John Reaney v the Hereford Diocesan Board of Finance at the Employment Tribunal, Cardiff
Publication date: 16 April 2007
John Reaney's claim against the Diocese of Hereford closed today
John Reaney’s claim in the Cardiff Employment Tribunal against the Diocese of Hereford closed today. Alison Downie of Bindman & Partners, Mr Reaney’s lawyer, said:
“Since his case started last week my client has received many messages of support from outside and within the Churches of England and Wales both clergy and congregation for which he is very grateful.
Today a member of the General Synod of the Church of England gave evidence in his support. All my client seeks is fair treatment in accordance with the law, which the Diocese of Hereford and the Bishop have denied him so far. We now look forward to the Tribunal’s decision shortly.”
