Compliance Assistant

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented compliance assistant with a passion for excellence and best practice to join our team. The role will involve working closely with the compliance officer as part of a small team. With broad responsibilities across a variety of stakeholders, you will ensure robust compliance with our regulatory obligations and support the day to day administration of the compliance function.

This opportunity would be ideal for somebody who is at the start of their compliance career or a graduate interested in this area of work, able to learn quickly in a fast paced environment and who would like to progress and learn within the role. Previous compliance experience within the legal sector would be an advantage, but not essential. If you have strong organisational, task management and communications skills, comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels, this could be the role for you.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Maintaining registers
    • Data breach, complaints, undertakings, AML, data protection queries
  • AML general queries
  • Maintaining and monitoring of file review reports and updates. Updating the file review schedules using the client management system (Tikit). Dealing with 1st level queries.
  • TikIt Reports
    • Following up reports and escalating where necessary
    • Legal Aid Reports – following up with fee earners and ensuring forms are completed correctly
  • General compliance queries
  • Assisting with projects
  • General admin – filing
  • Firm’s Portals – Lender Panels, HMCTS, Land Registry
  • Assisting with audits
    • Requesting documents and following up with fee earners
    • Filing
  • Compliance training
  • Data protection general queries
    • Assistance with DSAR and Data Sharing Agreements
  • Ad hoc compliance research tasks

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a compliance role in the legal sector
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Law Graduate (Desirable)
  • A high level of professionalism and confidentiality
