We are seeking to recruit an experienced paralegal within our Media & Information Law Team. This role will support four qualified lawyers in a team that comprises a partner, a senior consultant and two solicitors. The team’s work includes libel, privacy, data protection, and breach of confidence. Our expertise also covers judicial review cases, reputation management, copyright, freedom of information advice and human rights in the media and information context.
The post holder may ultimately be considered for a training contract at the firm following an internal recruitment process (although there can be no guarantee of a trainee vacancy).
Overview of key responsibilities
The role will consist of handling new enquiries, assisting fee earners with case preparation, file administration, preparing bills, undertaking legal research, preparing draft documents including witness statements and bundles, drafting aspects of advice, processing evidence, preparing, collating and ordering documentation, attending conferences and court.
skills/knowledge requirement
Legal qualifications, legal professional experience, and knowledge of civil litigation and human rights law are desirable.
You will also need to be highly motivated, proactive, self-servicing, enthusiastic, have excellent drafting, communication, organisation and administrative skills, a flexible and professional attitude, an ability to work on confidential matters and under pressure together with a keen eye for detail. An interest in media/politics/current affairs would be helpful.
