Bindmans’ Private Client team celebrates participation in Will Aid 2024

Towards the end of last year, Amrit Rana and Shelly Pastakia, with the assistance of Rebecca Davy and Lorenzo Razzano, participated in Will Aid. Solicitors taking part in the scheme across the UK have so far raised an incredible sum of £777,000.

The Will Aid scheme supports charitable causes whilst giving people the chance to access a professionally written Will. Participating solicitors volunteered their time writing a basic Will and waived the fee, inviting their clients to donate to Will Aid. The suggested voluntary amount was £100 for a single basic Will and £180 for a pair of basic ‘mirror’ Wills. Donations went to Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF (Scotland), and Trócaire (N. Ireland).

The current total of £777,000 is the highest amount raised since before the pandemic, and we are very proud to have been involved.

We’re delighted to have taken part in Will Aid 2024, donating our time and expertise to write Wills pro bono in exchange for charitable donations. Having a professionally written Will is crucial, and the fact that the funds raised from this scheme contributed towards the work of charities made involvement even more valuable. A huge thank you to everyone who supported this incredible initiative. It’s been an honour to contribute to causes that make a real difference.
