Employment law
Employment law is growing ever more complex, with new rights and protection for employees, and new duties on employers.
At Bindmans, we pride ourselves on keeping up-to-date with the barrage of changes in employment legislation and on offering high-quality, pragmatic, and cost-effective advice. Our expertise and experience in this area is second to none.
We are known for achieving as good – and better - results than the so-called ‘magic circle’ and large City law firms doing employment work who charge far higher fees than we do. Bindmans offers a streamlined, efficient service - where you pay for the timely legal advice you need, rather than add-ons and peripheral items that you don’t.
Whether you are an employer who wants to make sure your internal disciplinary procedures are up to scratch; or an employee who fears you have been passed over for promotion because of your age, Bindmans can help.

Our services
We act for both employers and employess which gives us invaluable insight into our opponent’s likely tactics:
Employment work needs sensitive handling because it often involves disputes between people who have worked together for many years. Whoever we are acting for, we strive to settle disputes as fairly and quickly as we can by taking a conciliatory approach, if appropriate. If early resolution isn’t possible, we will act robustly on our client’s behalf to achieve the best possible outcome.
Our employment team also has close links with colleagues in our Media, Immigration, Human rights and public law departments. We can call on their additional expertise when needed, to provide a seamless service to clients.

Funding
The Employment Department does not take on new cases under the Legal Help or Legal Aid schemes unless it is in relation to the Employment Appeal Tribunal. Also the Department does not generally take on work under Conditional Fee Arrangements (commonly known as 'no win, no fee'). Please call for information on our hourly rates and charging arrangements.
You may have legal expenses insurance attached to an existing insurance policy, such as household or car insurance. This could provide a source of funds for obtaining legal advice. Please check with your insurance provider as to whether you are covered for general legal expenses and their terms and conditions.
