We are seeking to recruit a Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant to join our Litigation department. The successful candidate will provide secretarial and administrative support to a senior solicitor in the team, based at our Chiswick Office.
Overview of key responsibilities
The principal duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing secretarial support to a Solicitor in the Litigation department
- Audio/ copy typing of letters, attendance notes
- Preparing Court forms/legal documents
- Booking appointments, arranging meetings and managing diaries
- Liaising with clients, Courts and other parties where required
- Attending to clients in person and on the phone
- Dealing with file opening, closing and retrieval procedures
- Electronic and manual filing of documents
- Undertaking administrative tasks and assisting with case administration and preparation
- Undertaking Legal Research
- Preparing and rendering bills
skills/knowledge requirements
Essential:
- Legal experience in a law firm is essential
- At least 3-4 years previous experience as a legal Secretary/legal assistant is essential, preferably within the litigation department
- Excellent communication, organisation and administrative skills
- Excellent computer skills – good working knowledge of MS office and use of Adobe Pro for bundles
- Experience of a case management system
- Excellent audio typing skills
- Good level of numeracy

- have a flexible and professional attitude
- have the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining strong attention to detail
