Family is one of the firm’s core and most well-established departments, covering the whole range of family law disputes, with expertise in children law (public and private), adoption and abduction, family finance and international cases.
Overview of key responsibilities
Responsible to the Head of the Family Department. We are looking for a highly motivated solicitor with experience in a wide range of family children law matters including:
- All aspects of child work.
- The successful applicant will be responsible for managing an active caseload dealing with a range of private and public childrens cases, as well as supervising other members of the team and should have knowledge and experience of the legal aid scheme.
- Ideally at least 8 years qualified/equivalent experience.
- Ideal candidate will be a Resolution accredited specialist in private and public law children and have the Law Society’s Family Law advanced accreditation.
- Experience of cross border child abduction matters and membership of the International child abduction & contact unit (ICACU) desirable.
- All the firm’s qualified fee earners are specialists and although they may have some opportunity to work outside their field of specialism, it is anticipated that the specialist area will account for the majority of their fee earning work.
