Brexit negotiations will begin formally from today and Chancellor, Philip Hammond, has announced that the British Government will prioritise the economy and securing jobs for EU citizens. The British negotiating team are set to push towards ‘soft Brexit’ which will be shaped, in part, by key decisions as to whether Britain will remain part of the Single Market and the Customs Union. The Chancellor has spoken of the need to take “a pragmatic approach, trying to find a solution that works” both for the UK and remaining EU members.
