Home Office publishes revised Right to Work Check guidance

1 min

In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, the Home Office has published guidance for employers on carrying out right to work checks. The guidance allows for adjustments to be made to the way in which right to work checks are carried out, taking into account the current government guidance on social distancing and widespread working from home practices. As such, employers are temporarily able to carry out these checks via video call. The employee’s document still needs to be checked and a record kept that the right to work check has been carried out, with reference to the adjusted check in light of Covid-19.
