Amrit is a Partner and Head of the Private Client department, with over 21 years’ experience advising individuals, families, and trustees.
She specialises in complex estate planning, contentious trusts and estates, and Court of Protection work. As an accredited Lifetime Lawyer, she has particular expertise in advising elderly and vulnerable clients and is recognised for her sensitive and pragmatic approach to challenging circumstances.
Her practice spans the full spectrum of private client work, from wills, trusts, and tax planning through to high-value and complex estate disputes. She has significant experience advising on estates with an international element, and has built an international client base, frequently advising on cross-border succession planning and complex trust structures. She also represents clients in contentious matters, including will challenges, Inheritance Act claims, and disputes between executors, trustees, and beneficiaries.
Amrit has also been appointed by the courts to act as an independent personal representative in disputed estates, reflecting her reputation for professionalism, independence, and trustworthiness.
In addition, she acts as a Court-appointed Deputy for individuals who lack capacity to manage their property and financial affairs. She regularly advises on statutory wills, deputyship applications, and contested matters within the Court of Protection.
She has also developed experience in advising on cases relating to assisted dying and end-of-life decision-making, bringing relief from forfeiture actions, an area requiring both legal expertise and significant sensitivity.
Clients value her ability to combine technical excellence with clarity, empathy, and reassurance, particularly in cases involving vulnerable parties or highly sensitive family dynamics.
