Kaya Saccheri

Kaya is a trainee solicitor in our Public Law and Human Rights team.

Kaya assists solicitors and partners in the Public Law team on a wide range of public law matters.

Kaya has experience working on notable public interest judicial review challenges, including:

  • Assisting John Halford and Grace Benton in representing the doctors’ advocacy group Anaesthetists United Ltd and the bereaved parents of Emily Chesterton in a judicial review of the failures by the General Medical Council to safely or adequately regulate the new professions of Physician Associates and Anaesthesia Associates.
  • Assisting John Halford and Caroline Robinson in a judicial review brought by Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) to challenge the Government’s decision to reject the Ombudsman’s finding on injustice and its decision not to compensate 1950s born women.

Kaya also has experience working on a range of civil claims against public authorities.

She has also assisted on cases regarding the relocation of individuals under the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) for those at risk from the Taliban due to their work with the UK.

Kaya has a particular interest in migrant rights and assisting asylum seekers to secure the provision of appropriate support and accommodation.

Education and career
  • Kaya graduated in 2021 from the University of Birmingham with a First-Class History degree.
  • She then completed her Masters in Law at the University of Law in 2022, achieving a distinction.
  • Kaya has completed the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE), passing both the SQE 1 and SQE 2.
  • Prior to joining Bindmans, Kaya worked as a paralegal at a legal aid firm specialising in care proceedings.
  • Kaya joined Bindmans in 2024 as a paralegal and became a trainee solicitor in March 2025.
