Lodovica Degan

Lodovica is a Solicitor in our Crime, Fraud and Regulatory team.

Lodovica specialises in defending clients facing serious, complex, and often high-profile criminal allegations, both in the UK and internationally. As well as a general criminal defence she represents clients in extradition proceedings.

Lodovica has broad experience across the criminal justice spectrum, assisting individuals from the earliest stages of investigation through to trial and appeal in both the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts. Her caseload includes complex matters involving serious fraud, sexual offences, offences against the person, firearms offences, criminal damage, and the possession of false identity documents.

She has developed expertise in protest-related defence, having successfully represented clients involved in movements such as Just Stop Oil, Extinction Rebellion, and Black Lives Matter. Her advocacy in these matters frequently engages arguments around freedom of expression and the right to protest.

Lodovica is also experienced in appellate work. She has successfully brought an out-of-time appeal to the Court of Appeal and regularly prepares extradition appeals before the High Court.

In her international practice, Lodovica advises on cases with cross-border dimensions, including complex extradition requests from both Category 1 and Category 2 territories. She has recently acted in proceedings involving India, Poland, and Spain, raising human rights-based challenges concerning fair trial rights, prison conditions, and private and family life.

Her background in assisting with international investigations and multi-jurisdictional matters ensures that she brings strategic insight to cases involving foreign evidence, parallel proceedings, or international cooperation requests.
