Sally-Jean is a Senior Consultant Solicitor and has over 30 years’ experience in claimant clinical negligence work and, as such, she is regarded as a highly skilled legal expert who has an impressive range and depth of knowledge.
Sally acts for clients in the full range of medical negligence matters including claims arising from negligent midwifery, obstetric, anaesthetic, paramedic, surgical, GP, A&E care and treatment. She achieves extremely high, life changing settlements for clients who have sustained serious injuries resulting in brain damage, severe disabilities, or death.
She is known for her forensic and thoughtful approach to the investigation of claims, and for trying to find a resolution as soon as reasonably possible. She provides a holistic service to clients which often extends beyond the conclusion of their matter.
Sally is on the Law Society and AvMA panels of Specialist Clinical Negligence lawyers.
In addition to her work at Bindmans, Sally is the Honorary Secretary of the London Free Legal Advice Society and has been a volunteer at the Islington Legal Advice Centre, attending weekly advice sessions for over 35 years.

Sally-Jean’s recent settlements include:
- Settlement of a claim for a woman who had a very late termination of pregnancy, and suffered psychiatric consequences, as a result of failure to identify a fetal anomaly following a scan at 20 weeks gestation.
- Settlement of a claim for a young woman who suffered a perineal tear during childbirth and permanent life-changing injury (ASI) as a result of negligent obstetric care.
- Settlement of a very high value claim for a young man arising from birth injury causing mild cerebral palsy and learning difficulties (capitalised value £32m).
- Settlement of a claim for the family of a gentleman arising from GP’s failure to refer for investigation resulting in a delay in diagnosis of bowel cancer and death.
- An admission of liability in a case in which a GP failed to refer their patient for investigation of symptoms resulting in a delay in diagnosis of laryngeal cancer and life-changing injuries.
