This is a well argued but hard hitting report which identifies the shortcomings with the current system of recruitment to the senior judiciary and suggests some very practical ways forward – which should be seriously considered.  To ignore its key findings would undermine trust and confidence in the legal system which we value so highly. We face a crisis in terms of recruitment and this report raises difficult questions which need to be addressed. Now is the time to act.
