A lecture by Baroness Hale of Richmond on children’s rights in memory of Katherine Gieve

Bindmans recently had the pleasure of hosting a lecture on children’s rights by Baroness Hale of Richmond, former President of the Supreme Court, in memory of former partner, Katherine Gieve. Katherine was one of the country’s leading legal advocates for children in numerous ground-breaking cases.

In this recorded lecture, Baroness Hale of Richmond, former President of the Supreme Court, delivers a talk on children’s rights, in which she discusses the history of children’s rights and their rights today. She also speaks about Katherine, who worked tirelessly to do good for women and children.

This event was held in aid of the charity Pause, a national charity which meant so much to Katherine and of which she was a trustee. Pause works to improve the lives of women who have had, or are at risk of having, more than one child removed from their care.

The evening was hosted by Selena Ludick, Head of our Family team. As well as Katherine’s friends and family, colleagues from Bindmans and the team at Pause, we were joined by people from across the family and children law world.

We also heard from Sir Andrew McFarlane, President of the Family Division, and from Jules Hiller, Chief Executive of Pause.

Please note, this talk is for educational purposes only and is not legal advice.
