Comment: Will the hostile environment hamper vaccine efforts?

1 min

Theodora Middleton reacts to the BBC’s report that Covid-19 vaccinations will be available to undocumented migrants.

Theodora comments: “It is right that a person’s immigration status should not be a barrier to getting vaccinated. Any other approach would jeopardise public health and likely be unlawful. The government’s announcement will mean little, however, without assurances that people’s data will not be shared with the Home Office and that meaningful are steps being taken to help people register with a GP.”
