Leading law firm Bindmans recruited Alison Leivesley as Partner and Maud Davis as Associate into their Family and Matrimonial Law practice. Alison and Maud both join from Freemans Solicitors and bring with them a wealth of experience in children law.

Alison and Maud are highly regarded and both have stellar reputations within Family Law. Both lawyers are ranked in Chambers and Partners 2021 guide in recognition of their experience in Children: Public Law Matters. The independent guide describes Maud as being “a go-to solicitor for guardians and takes on high-profile cases” while Alison is described as “great with parents and makes sure they get a good outcome. She also gets to the heart of the matter and manages expectations”. Both are ranked as leading individuals in The Legal 500 2021.

Alison has a particular interest in domestic abuse, forced marriage, so called ‘honour’ based violence and female genital mutilation (FGM) issues. She has provided training and contributed to various publications on these topics. Alison was previously head of department at another well-known London firm.

Maud specialises in children law, representing children in complex care cases. She is an experienced advocate and deals with hearings at all levels, including the Court of Appeal. She joins us after almost 20 years as a partner in other firms. Maud is a member of the Family Justice Council, and is co-chair of the Interdisciplinary Alliance for Children.

Head of the department, Amy Rowe, said “we are very pleased to have Alison and Maud join the team. Both are exceptional lawyers who will enhance our client offering in children cases with their vast knowledge and experience. We are pleased that we continue to attract top talent with a shared commitment to outstanding client service.”
