Bindmans LLP is delighted to announce the promotion of two associates, one partner and a new member of the LLP for 2021.

Anna Thwaites, Actions against Police and State
Partner, LLP Member

Anna Thwaites is an extremely experienced solicitor with a successful track record in winning high profile and legally challenging cases. She continues to be recognised in both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 for her legal expertise and knowledge. Anna is particularly highly regarded for her work representing bereaved families in contentious inquests following the death of their loved ones in state custody and complex group litigation linked with protests and police civil actions. Laura Hobey-Hamsher, Public Law

Well known for her work in the Court of Protection and the High Court, Laura has been recognised in both Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500 since 2012. Particularly recognised for acting in cases which centre around the health, welfare, and medical treatment of both vulnerable adults and children, Laura’s proven track record and stellar reputation mean that she is often called on – and trusted – to act in the most factually, legally, and emotionally challenging of cases. Melissa Arnold, Family

Melissa is an experienced lawyer specialising exclusively in the field of family law recently commended within the Legal 500 for being ‘approachable and professional with excellent attention to detail’ and as ‘a force to be reckoned with when it comes to realistic and pragmatic advice to be given to clients and to fighting cases diligently.’ Melissa advises clients on all aspects of family law with a particular emphasis upon the financial disputes which may arise as a result of a relationship breaking down.
