Bindmans LLP announces the promotion of one partner and two associates

3 mins

Bindmans LLP has today announced the promotion of one partner and two associates across its Family and Matrimonial, Crime, Fraud and Regulatory and Public Law and Human Rights offerings.

Amy Rowe has joined the partnership and will lead the Family and Matrimonial team at Bindmans. Amy is a specialist in all aspects of domestic and international family law, and particularly international disputes involving children. Amy is consistently highly rated in both Chambers UK and the Legal 500. She is often praised for taking an imaginative and determined approach to difficult cases even when the way forward is not at first obvious. She has a passionate and unwavering dedication to fighting difficult cases, and a proven ability to take on and win complex, novel cases, including in the Supreme Court.

Two new associates are:

Laura Hobey-Hamsher is a highly experienced solicitor whose expertise has been recognised in both Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500 for many years. She has a diverse practice, at the heart of which is acting for vulnerable children and adults, as well as their loved ones, and those who care for them.  Laura acts in all areas of public law and civil liberties, focusing primarily on healthcare, be that mental health, or mental capacity, the provision and withdrawal of medical treatment, or community care.  A versatile and creative solicitor, Laura is equally at home acting in high profile cases, as she is acting for those at the margins of society whose voices haven’t (yet) been heard.

Catherine Jackson has an impressive record in securing successful outcomes for clients in police investigations, before any charge, and in Court proceedings prior to trial. She defends in all types of criminal cases and has particular expertise in cases involving alleged harm to children including alleged “baby shaking” cases. These cases require  particular skills and sensitivity and often involve highly complex scientific evidence.

Jon Crocker, Managing Partner at Bindmans LLP, comments:

We’re proud of this year’s promotions round, which highlights the firm’s diverse range of talent across multiple practices. I welcome Amy to the partnership and congratulate Laura and Catherine on their appointment as associates. I look forward to seeing the firm continue to grow with the help of those three talented lawyers who have achieved what they have already by consistently demonstrating the market-leading advice, along with a deep commitment to the firm’s values and highest standard of client service
