Today, the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA) has announced the appointment of Alison Stanley, Senior Consultant in our Immigration, Asylum and Nationality team, as a Patron of ILPA.

ILPA Patrons are selected and appointed by the Committee of Trustees to serve a fixed term, with the purpose of progressing the activities of the Association, as well as adding to the profile and standing of the Association.

Alison has an impressive profile in the field, having specialised in immigration law since 1984. She has significant experience in all aspects of immigration, asylum and nationality law, with her diverse caseload including everything from applications for high net worth individuals, through asylum to children in care.

Alison has worked to improve best practice as an ILPA trainer, and was also a founding member of the Refugee Women’s Legal Group and the Law Society’s Immigration Law Committee. She is a trustee Immigrants Aid Trust, among others.

Alison joins current ILPA Patrons Adrian Berry of Garden Court Chambers and Elspeth Guild of Kingsley Napley.

In relation to her appointment, Alison has said:

I am honoured to become a Patron of ILPA, the leading immigration practitioners’ organisation in the UK. I have been involved with ILPA since its inception, and I am delighted to continue to be associated with ILPA and its important work in assisting immigration lawyers, raising standards of representation for immigrants and working towards a more just and equitable system of immigration law.

Managing Partner, Jon Crocker says:

We’re delighted with Alison’s appointment as a Patron of ILPA. Alison has an impressive track record and fantastic reputation as an immigration law expert and will undoubtedly be a great asset to the Association.
