Professional Negligence

Individuals will often instruct professional advisors, such as solicitors, accountants, auditors, surveyors and financial advisers for specialist advice in relation to a particular matter. By instructing that ‘professional’, there is an expectation that the advice they receive is correct.

If an individual, in reliance on that advice, then suffers a financial loss, then they may have a claim against the professional advisor for negligence, if it can be proved that the advice which was provided by the professional was incorrect.
